What is the shrug emoticon?
Also called “shruggie,” it's a kaomoji that shows a person shrugging, built from a katakana “tsu” (ツ) face and arms made of backslashes and macrons. It spread widely in the 2010s and is now a go-to way to express indifference or “oh well.”
How to use it
Tap a version to copy — it's text, so it works the same on Discord, Reddit, Twitch, Twitter/X, and SMS. Tip: when you paste it somewhere that uses a backslash for formatting (like some chat apps), use the double-backslash version ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯ so it doesn't get cut off.
